Coaching walks

A coaching walk isn’t the same as a formal one-to-one training session. Instead, it’s a chance for you and your dog to get practical, hands-on guidance while you’re out on a real walk.

We’ll walk together in your typical environment: paths, park edges, streets, dog-friendly outdoor spaces. I’ll help you recognise and manage the situations you and/or your dog finds tricky and show you how to use them as positive training opportunities.

You’ll come away with:

  • Real-life strategies to manage distractions and excitement.
  • Greater confidence in your handling and decision making.
  • A clear plan to make your everyday walk more relaxed and enjoyable.
  • Training notes and a reminder of what we worked on, so you don’t lose momentum.

Whether you’re walking a new puppy, a rescue dog, an older companion, or managing reactivity, a coaching walk helps you both make progress on the move. It’s also a great opportunity to get the whole family involved in making training consistent and setting your dog up for success.

Turn your walk into meaningful time together. Book your 30- or 60-minute session today, or book a 20 minute free consultation call to find out more.

Coaching walks are £25 for 30mins, or £45 for one hour. A block booking discount is available.

The video below is a coaching walk with Beanz the cavapoo. In our last session, I wanted to determine whether his over-the-top reaction to other dogs was due to fear or frustration. A coaching walk with superstar stooge spaniel Chip gave us the perfect chance to find out.

Turns out, Beanz really, really wants to say hello – but his manners need some serious work (with a little anxiety in the mix too).

Now we have a better idea of the big feelings behind his behaviour, we’re in a better position to help him cope with them.
